This is definitely a chick flick. I found little in the way of entertainment here.

very endearing. nice story, with real issues and real people.

Some good performances & dialogue here. Not all of it believable; issues are raised and resolved on numerous story lines a little too neatly really, but i guess that's required by the genre. Worth seeing.

Romance lost and found by members of a family with divorced parents, a college daughter and a HS son over the course of one Thanksgiving day to the next. The promiscuous daughter had the best lines in mho, see quotes.

Excellent movie, tho I am a sucker for love stories. It deals with multiple relationships good and bad, but is still a love story. For anyone struggling in a relationship...enjoy. For anyone in a successful relationship....enjoy.

Poignant drama of the qualities of allowing oneself to love. Very touching film

Pretty well written characters, and storyline. Follows 3 seperate romances (each in a different age group) within a family of novel/short story writers. Solid cast as well. Lily Collins, Greg Kinnear, and Jennifer Connelly gave particularly good performances. Definitely has some funny moments, but has the feel of a romantic drama rather than a typical romantic comedy. Definitely worth seeing for anybody looking for a romance film, and because of the different age groups involved, anyone of any age should find it appealing.

Samantha Borgens: If love is setting a place at the table for someone who is never coming home, I think I'll pass. ----
Kate: My biggest mistake was thinking you could fix me. Only I can fix me.
-----
Samantha Borgens: Just avoid love at all costs. That's my motto.
-----
Samantha Borgens: There are two kinds of people in this world: hopeless romantics and realists.
Rusty Borgens: Right.
Samantha Borgens: A realist just sees that face and packs it in with every other pretty girl they've ever seen before. The hopeless romantic becomes convinced that God put them on Earth to be with that one person. But there is no God and life is only as meaningful as you fool yourself into thinking it is. Guys who get laid a lot are realists. You should be listening.
