Insipid. A boring period piece soap opera.

Add me to the KCLS patrons that loved this BBC Worldwide Production. Oh my gosh, I was enthralled from beginning to end. The story by the famous Emile Zola is fascinating. Anything by him I have found to make a great movie. You won't regret taking
"Paradise" home tonight!

Pretty good... boring in some parts, better in others.

I really enjoyed the first of the Series. The character John Moray is really a showman. But he really needed to be more aggressive in his personal life in not marrying a weathly woman he does not love. But he is thinking about the money he will be getting from his future father-in-law for the Dept. Store.
There's a cliff hanger on the last show too. So you have to see the 2nd Season for the result of the liason between Moray and Denise.

Enjoyable, I wish that there were more wholesome and clean TV dramas like this out there.

In a word: enchanting! Newcomer Joanna Vanderham lights up the screen, though I agree with others Emun Elliot, as the male lead is not the strongest choice. Will remind one of Mr. Selfridge, but story and other characters are more interesting here. Highly recommended!!

Great great series. I enjoyed it and was bummed when I found out Netflix did not have the second season. If you have this on hold and you have Netflix, don't wait watch it on there :)
