My wife and I both felt this was an all ages family friendly movie. There is one scene in which a woman who is subtly hinted as being naked is shown kissing a wolf-man. It is the type of scene that a 5 year old will not even blink an eye at, but an 11 year old might find a bit embarrassing. Other than this brief scene, this is an emotionally realistic film about childhood and parenting that is capable of entertaining any patient movie viewers in the family.

Cool movie. Recommend for 12 and ups.

This is such a beautiful film, a true pleasure to watch. The artists captured nature in such a real way-from a gathering cumulus cloud to the rain pouring off rooftops. It was like watching an animated fairytale painting.
And the story is just as compelling, capturing the hardships and sacrifices of motherhood as well as the joys, adventure and closeness of family.

This is such a heartwarming story, even for a person that enjoys Hellsing and Monster as her anime of choice. The soundtrack is so charming and there's equal parts adorable laughs and tear-jerking moments coupled with beautiful animation.

An absolutely heartwarming movie. Both myself and my Husband found ourselves smiling at the truth of it. Raising children has its joy and heartbreak, and this film definitely captures both. I was crying at how similar the children were to my own, and cheering on their hardworking mother.

I absolutely adored it! It was so sweet and happy and tragic all at the same time! I loved how it showed the bond and strength of family and how to let go and follow your own pathways. Very sweet. It made my heart sigh in happiness ;)

The film “Wolf Children” by Mamoru Hosoda follows a college girl named Hana. While at school she meets a wolf man, and falls in love. Soon after marrying the wolf man, Hana gives birth to two wolf children; an older sister named Yuki, and a younger brother named Ame. Both Hana and the wolf man live quietly to protect the existence of the wolf children, but suddenly the wolf man dies, and Hana has to take care of the children herself. The children experience conflict between their wolf and human differences, and Hana struggles with taking care of her children alone in order to protect the children.

I personally felt that the story was very good, but was not perfect. First, there were many plot points that lead nowhere. For example, the film would bring up many different scenes that seem important but were never mentioned or referred to again. This leads to a lot of confusion and questions from the viewer. Furthermore, I felt the pacing of the story was somewhat rushed. During the beginning of the film everything happened very fast, leaving me very confused as to what the rest of the movie would contain. The confusion made me doubt the importance of what I was watching. The later parts of the film progressed very slowly, and I enjoyed it a lot more as the characters developed slightly better, and a deeper connection to the story. Overall, I feel like the movie was very enjoyable, and I would recommend it to friends, but it does have its flaws.

The theme of the film is the love between parents and children. The story covers 13 years and begins with a 19-year-old college student named Hana who encounters and falls in "fairy tale-like" love with a "wolf man." After marrying the wolf man, Hana gives birth and raises two wolf children—an older sister named Yuki who was born on a snowy day, and a younger brother named Ame who was born on a rainy day. The four quietly lived in a corner of a city to conceal the existence of the "wolf children," but when the wolf man suddenly dies, Hana decides to move to a rural town far removed from the city.
