Muse: It was supposed to be easy. I take ship... ransom... nobody get hurt.
Captain Richard Phillips: You had thirty thousand dollars, and a way to Somalia. It wasn't enough?
Muse: I got bosses. They got rules.
Captain Richard Phillips: We all got bosses.

Add a CommentBoring, done already, trite. Hank plays a scared man whose ship's been taken over by low-live, lazy pirates. The film was extremely drawn out and couldn't wait for it to end. One of Hank's very few bummer movies.
Tom Hanks at his best! Exciting heart pounding tension!
Tom Hanks at the top of his game. He starts the movie totally in control of his life, his marriage, his kids, his giant cargo ship & the pirates reduce him to a blithering idiot. Superb!
Great movie, tense and gripping.
unbelievably good - was impressed
stayed with me
An excellent thriller based on true events! Pulse pounding action! Great acting from Tom Hanks and Barkdi Abdi!
Should have won Best Picture in 2014!
Tense, great acting, and a shockingly strong supporting cast.
Great movie.
Better than average movie filled with action and suspense.
The actors were magnificent in this movie. It was a little too much action for my taste--I would've liked to had more backstory, more drama about who these characters were and less adventure. I thought the cast of the Alabama were portrayed a little too favorably, especially the titular character, but I guess this is to be expected.
This is a very good production both in directing and acting. Recommend to watch.
