Whoa! I did not see any of it coming - which is the mark of a good writer. It definitely held my attention and took me for a ride.
I could not find the enthusiasm for this book that the reviews promised. It is genuinely well written, but the juxtaposition of "real" and the imagined "real" of the mentally ill, was overly long in developing for me. It is somewhat reminiscent of "A Beautiful Mind", in that respect. I never developed any empathy for the main characters. It is a very touching expression of loss and grief, and the multitude of emotions surrounding it. Frankly, I would not recommend it.
