A stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. Bounty hunter John Ruth and his fugitive Daisy race toward the town of Red Rock, where Ruth will bring Daisy to justice. Losing their lead on the blizzard, they seek refuge at Minnie's, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie's, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock.

As a writer and director of movies, no one is better at character developement than Quentin Tarantino. The problem with this one, and many other Tarantino projects, is the story. His stories always start out good, and then it's like he just get's bored and quits. I wish Mr. Tarantino would find another writer-storyteller he could conspire with.

A locked-room mystery disguised as a Western. Love this movie, though it gets a little long in the middle.

This is really a boring, dull movie. Once they get into the stagecoach resting area the movie really becomes fake and stagey. I'm not a big fan of Tarentino but this film is definitely one of his worst. The older he gets the more he's shooting blanks.

I have seen a lot of Tarantino's movies and this one made me "hateful" of what he produced. Crappy film overall. I turned it off after 20 minutes.

Quentin Tarantino took the concept of his first film, Reservoir Dogs, and perfected it with the Hateful Eight.

Once Quentin Tarantino made intelligent and colorful movies full of inspired dialogue and interesting visuals. Now he makes uninteresting films full of flash visuals ( blatantly ripped off from other people ) and dull, plodding monologues. At this point in his career Tarantino seems content to rest on past glories, catering to his gushing and uncritical fanboys and their fawning adulation- oblivious to the fact that he's become a laughable hack in the process.

Part stage play, and part Reservoir Dogs, Agatha Christie mystery, and Hammer Horror, The Hateful Eight would be twice as effective if it were half as long. What genre film geeks turned directors like Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese don't realize is that part of those films' appeal is their efficiency, compared to bigger, more pretentious films. However, the twists in Eight are mostly worth waiting for, and even the bad acting is explained in the end. The standout performer is Jennifer Jason Leigh, an actress who steals every scene she is in.

First time, amazed mixed with disgust; Second time, fantastic!

Tarantino's second Western, Hateful Eight is a neat 'Who done it' mystery. While it definitely has its share of violence and gore, I thought it was one of Tarantino's least violent movies. The movie takes a while to get the story going, but the amazing scenery and and music make it worth it.
