A gripping tale of art, passion and deceit set in wartime Britain and the present day, with a supernatural presence.
I enjoyed this book: a romantic historical thriller, with a generous serving of art and the supernatural. Looking forward to reading more books by this author.
I used to love Barbara Erskine books but I think that this one will be the last that I read. I didn't love her last book and that trend continues with this new title. It was an unnecessarily long, very slow moving book that had too many unlikeable and one-dimensional characters. I also saw the ending coming from a mile away. From now on I think I'll stick with Susanna Kearsley to get my supernatural/Gothic fix.
