Totally disappointed, especially after a long wait for the CD from the library, I actually gave up after 20 minutes.

So happened I have just watched two films by Doris Day, this one simply pale when compared.

I saw this fantastic film seven times in the theater. Bought both soundtracks and the DVD. This is my new favorite movie. The music, story and acting (especially Emma Stone) are just wonderful. Love La La Land!

I understand that this type of movie won't appeal to everyone, but I loved it. I thought this worked beautifully as a modern, fresh musical. It was lovely to watch and I thought Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling were both outstanding.

I am a musical fan. I was so excited to see this production. The first 5 minutes into this movie I was still wondering what all the hype was about. This is not a movie I am impressed with. I felt that every scene was like a screen test. My opinion is that the actors just did not mesh together. The movie just did not flow for me.

Loved the casting and the movie was wonderful! In typical Oscar style - ending was expected.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZINGGGGGGG!!!I love this movie sooo soo much! The acting is incredible, the music wonderful, the script excellent, aghhh I just love it so much! But the thing with this movie is that you either LOVE it or you HATE it. There is no in between; at least I haven't heard of anyone say so... If you're not a musical type, I get it: just don't watch it. But if you do watch it then don't go complaining to everyone else that you hated it. I warned you.

The cinematography was outstanding...but I couldn't even make it to the end of the movie to see what all the hype was about the ending. Sigh.

Wanted to see what the hype was all about, but ended up turning it off 10 minutes into the movie.

Great movie. Much different than the directors last movie Whiplash (also a great movie).

Quite a few in IMDb already but here is one not there -- Audition (The Fools Who Dream)

Stone's aunt P1 of 2:

My aunt used lived in Paris.
I remember, she used to come home and tell us...
These stories about being abroad and...
I remember she told us that she jumped into the river once...
Barefoot
She smiled...
Leapt ...
Without looking
And tumbled into...
The Seine
The water was freezing
She spent a month sneezing
But said she would do it again
Here's to the ones who dream
Foolish as they may seem
Here's to the hearts that ache
Here's to the mess we made
She captured a feeling Sky with no ceilling

Stone's aunt P2 of 2:

The sunset inside a frame
She lived in her liquor And died with a flicker
I'll always remember the flame
Here's to the ones who dream
Foolish as they may seem
Here's to the hearts that ache
Here's to the mess we made
She told me...
"A bit of madeness is key"
"To give us new colors to see"
"Who knows where it will lead us?"
"And that's why they need us"
Bring on the rebels
The ripples from pebbles
The painters, and poets, and plays
And here's to the fools who dream
Crazy as they may seem
Here's to the hearts that break
Here's to the mess we made
I trace it all back to then
Her, and the snow, and the Seine
Smiling trough it
She said she'd do it
Again
