I was disappointed on a few levels. I had thought this was written for the general public, not young adults, so I was disappointed by the very low level of vocabulary. However, that isn't any reason to rate something low. My main disappointment was in the fact that the opportunity to highlight the lives of some elders was completely lost. The interviews were no doubt very powerful and yet they are only presented here in a Coles Notes, bare-bones summary that barely glazes the surface of the lives lived. I really hope there are more options for young readers to learn about First Nationals and Native American persons.
