"It isn't paranoia if it's really happening ... Anna Fox lives alone--a recluse in her New York City home, drinking too much wine, watching old movies, recalling happier times ... and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move next door: a father, a mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna sees something she shouldn't, her world begins to crumble--and its shocking secrets are laid bare. What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one--and nothing--is what it seems."-- Jacket flap.

I was burned out over unreliable narrators, but when I finally read this it was twisty and turny. A great book to read on a dark and snowy night.

This was a great thriller, although it did start slow in the beginning. Trust me, it picks up. It reminded me of the movie "Rear Window". You follow the protagonist, Anna Fox, former a child psychologist and what she sees from her windows of her home. One night, she sees her new neighbor get stabbed and a mystery ensues. There are many twists and turns throughout the novel.

I didn’t think it started off that slow like other have mentioned. It will have you guessing until the very end. I loved this book!

Good psychological thriller. As already mentioned, it is a bit slow. Although Anna's backstory was obvious early on, the final twist is surprising. Very well-written, the author fully immerses the reader in Anna's world. I wanted to read this before the movie was released, and I'm glad I did.

I must have said this out loud. 'What doesn't matter?' he asks. You, I think. I don't say it. Instead I hang up.

'Help,' I shout, only it’s a whisper, creeping through my throat on tiptoe, smearing itself across my tongue. 'He-elp,' I try again; this time my teeth bite into it, sparks raining from my mouth as though I’ve chewed a live wire, and my voice catches like a fuse, explodes. I scream.
