Funny and full of potential with great characters, but so many cliches. The end felt super rushed and unbelievable. Promising start, weak ending.
It did have it's charm with some mild chuckles and relevant dialogue, however was a very simplistic storyline that ended in a fairly tale ending. The premise of this film was for the longtime friends to read Fifty Shades of Grey, for their long term book club. The one book becomes three as they giggle and are inspired by it. This may work for women that were not abused, but not so much for ones that were. Did not have any bonus material on this DVD.
I was expecting more from this movie, considering the cast. Diane Keaton is always fun though. The movie was entertaining, but glad I didn't see it at the show.
I waited so long for this movie to become available and couldn't have been more disappointed when the wait was over. All the best moments in the film are in the trailer. The story line was a great idea but the rest was just one cliche after another, pure formula, phoned in performances by the male leads (+ zero chemistry), and sadly one of the worst scripts to come out of Hollywood ~ well ~ ever. The caliber of the female leads was undermined to the point of embarrassment and it's a true shame that all of them had to stoop to accepting such banal parts just to be able to engage in the craft they all love. Well intended doesn't count.
This video did have some funny parts but it really was a waste of talent on such a thin and predictable plot line. Very disappointing over all.
The film itself was rather trite however I did enjoy seeing the older actresses acting again. I felt nostalgic as most of these women I grew up with.
With a cast like this I expected more. The material was not adequate to the actresses, but they did their best. What got to be interesting was comparing cosmetic surgery once it got dull...who had the most work and who had the least. Jane Fonda doesn't even look like herself anymore.
One cliche after another. Candice Bergman had all the best lines. A much older Jane Fonda with Don Johnson was too far-fetched.
Stereotypical, shallow and a sad comment on the lack of good roles for older actresses. Not funny or genuine...I felt the cast was capable of so much more.
