Felt sea-sick after watching the movie because the pacing is too slow and it's going back and forth between flashbacks and the main narrative and up and down and all around. Get me off this boat!
Very slow movie.
It was actually good movie. Very realistically filmed and acted, too.
Since it was based on a true story,
it makes sense, that it was dragged out.
Acting was very good.
I thought the pace was too slow for this kind of movie. However, the lead actress, Shailene Woodley, was perfect for this role and the scenery is fantastic!
Can't discuss content without spoiling movie. The movie intrigued me. I’m not one who can suspend too much belief and I started out thinking it was going to require me to do that consistently. It didn’t have great lines by any means but then, the acting, the story, and, especially, the photography, took over. Was glad to see why the photography was so good during the Special Features explanation of filming on the water. And, certainly, the directing was very good. Overall, a good choice, very thought provoking.
The movie trailer raised my hopes for an adventure, but it showed all the action leaving the movie run super slow. The movie had to be shot with flashbacks of the past switching with the present time. That was understandable, if done otherwise the movie would be unbearable to watch.
Acting was decent by the main character. There was a twist in the plot. The movie was based on an incredible real character/story, but I could not help nodding off.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this movie.
