Horrible movie. Started out great, and then the people making the movie must have gotten tired and said "Let's just finish this up quickly by killing everyone." Ridiculous.

It shows Hollywood has gone off the deep end.

You either eat the rich, or the rich eat you.

The writer/director tried hard to make a humorous parody between the feeble-minded rich and the conniving poor in S. Korea, but with too many forced twists and plot holes, turning the social drama into a farce. And compare to, for example, Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Parasite is clearly a cut below in the quality of screen play, characters, actions, costumes, set designs, music score, stunts, visual/set designs ... and a good ending. Speaking of ending, the equally farcical coda is little more than the film maker's plan for a sequel, never mind the explanation given by Bong Joon Ho on why he wanted Parasite to end the way it has. Nonetheless, an entertaining dark comedy like other good to excellent movies written and directed by Bong Joon Ho, but not outstanding in my opinion:

Sea Fog (Haemoo 2014) ★★★★
Snowpiercer (2013) ★★★
Mother (Madeo 2009) ★★★
Barking dogs never bite (Flandersui gae 2000) ★★★

WAYYYYY overrated. Only won best pic because there is so much garbage generated by hollywood these days. Clever but certainly not brilliant. I streamed it on YouTube for 5.99 and think I got ripped off.

Almost as bad and disturbing as the joker movie.

Let me just say that Class in the REAL discrimination. If you have money you get away with everything. I am so sick of black people or any other nationality that is not white claiming discrimination just because of their color. If you are black and have a lot of money you have power just like any body else. OJ got away with murder and Obama became president for example. When I get stopped by a cop I am respectful and that is why I am treated in the same way. When certain black people get stopped by a cop they have an attitude. That is why the cop who has to deal with worrying about a threat to their life might have to react. They would do the same with a poor white person with an attitude. Everyone is the same no matter what they look like. It is the attitude that determines your fate if you don't have a lot of money to get away with things. It is time to stop using your nationality as an excuse

It's an entertaining movie. However I think it's overrated and am surprised it won the Oscar for best movie.

Its one hell of a great film. Had an interesting experience seeing it in theaters. It was me and two older couples. Frankly, two NIMBY, entitled couples. What stands out was a scene where Mr. Kim was driving Mr Park and talking to him, and Mr Park sternly tells Mr Kim to "keep his eyes on the road". The old white NIMBY lady in the theater couldn't contain herself and said out loud "YES KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD!"

THIS FILM IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. IF YOU HAVE MONEY, NOT FOR YOU.

One of those films that you should know little or nothing about going in, except it's one of the best of the decade, and that you won't be able to stop talking and thinking about when you come out. Therefore, please stop reading at the end of this sentence, see it, and come back later. Do it. SPOILERS: Just a few things to think about in this rich film: why did poor father keep losing his jobs? People call him a cockroach, he is "fumigated" in his own house, and he ends up living permanently in a basement. And those pizza boxes they were making were fumigated too -- yum! What's the story with poor mother's (Olympic?) medals? Do you think the original owner of the house (the architect) was killed by the basement couple? How much of the film is the poor son's fantasy or hallucination -- he was hit hard enough, twice, to give him brain damage. Is the real victim the rich son: terrified by a 'ghost', his substitute mother fired (and then killed), and then the young woman that was her replacement and his father murdered before his eyes? The three families are like the sirloin ram-don: two cheap, and one ridiculously expensive ingredient, stewing together in the same pot

Lady are you crazy? If they see that video, Mr. Park and his wife will be so shocked! What did those nice people ever do wrong? Why do this to them?
-Stop right there! Or I'll push the 'send' button.
===
Honey, this 'send' button is like a missile launcher.
-What do you mean, honey?
If we threaten to push it. those people can't do anything. It's like a North Korean rocket.
===
She's rich, but still nice.
-Not "rich, but still nice." She's nice because she's rich. Hell, if I had all this money. I'd be nice, too!
===
Rich people are naive. No resentments. No creases on them.
-It all gets ironed out. Money is an iron. Those creases all get smoothed out.
===
My wife has no talent for housework. She's bad at cleaning, and her cooking's awful.
-Still, you love her, right?
Of course. I love her. We'll call it love.

A lot of planning (scheming,) P1 of 2:

Now our Wi-Fi is shut off. What's your plan?
===
I don't think of this as forgery or crime. I'll go this university next year.
-So you've got a plan!
===
To extract a woman like that, we need to prepare well.
-Right, we need a plan.
==
What do we do? This isn't in the plan.
===
Dad was going on about some plan...
===
Dad, today I made a plan. A fundamental plan. I'm going to earn money.
A lot of it. University, a career, marriage.

A lot of planning (scheming,) P2 of 2:

You don't have a plan?
-I just feel comfortable here.
===
What do we do now, what's our plan?
-I've been wondering... What would Min do in this situation?
Min wouldn't be in this situation!
===
So nothing happened. You understand? I've got my own plan.
===
Ki-woo, you know what kind of plan never fails? No plan at all.
-No plan.
You know why? If you make a plan, life never works out that way. Look around us. Did these people think, "Let's all spend the night in a gym?" But look now. Everyone's sleeping on the floor, us included. That's why people shouldn't make plans. With no plan, nothing can go wrong. And if something spins out of control, it doesn't matter. Whether you kill someone or betray your country. None of it fucking matters.
Got it?
