Add a SummaryIf you like Edward norton you will love this. This is a story that is complex and longer than most films at 144 minutes. It is rich in details. It does remind me of the movie The Goldfinch, which is detail rich and complex. If you like that sort of movie that makes you think and feel, this it a goodie. It is based on some history of new york city and the housing crisis where people were taken advantage of with little recourse. It is

Both of us thought this movie was very good. Seems like most cities over the years have had crooked police. But most are fine people with a difficult job. They deal with the scum of the earth, people that lie, cheat and steal.
MY HUSBAND AND I FINISHED WATCHING THIS MOVIE AND IT WAS A GOOD MOVIE. THE ACTING
BY ED NORTON WAS SUBURB. TOOK A LOT OF TALENT TO PLAY THIS ROLE. OTHER ACTORS WE
GOOD THE TITLE I WAS NOT SOME WHAT I HAD EXPECTED FROM THE MOVIE BUT THE STORY
LINE OF THE MOVIE WAS GREAT. I WAS GLAD I WATCHED THIS MOVIE.
Slow paced, but excellent.
The plot is kind of heavy and slow pace. The ending is good, acting is good, cinematography isn't bad so I give 3.5.
Loved this movie! The costumes are accurate for the period, and beautifully designed. The music is almost another character in the film.
Beautifully done.
Outstanding film, especially Edward Norton’s acting and the gorgeous music. Best movie I’ve seen in a long time. Highly recommend.
Edward Norton plays his part well. Bruce Willis is around for most likely 5 minutes maximum. But personally, I found this movie a total waste of a night, I just did not get into it at all.
Pay attention. The title is explained... once. Edward Norton is excellent.
A slow start, but an intriguing film by the end. Norton wrote the adapted screenplay, directed, and starred in it - a job well done all around. By resetting the story in the 1950s, he gives a little breathing room from the news of today while also shining light on ways we got to where we are now. The way music overtly winds throughout the film (Thom Yorke + jazz!), and even mirrors the main character's tourettes, adds an innovative layer to the story worth seeing(hearing).
