Colorful illustrations and inclusive concept of families
Cute story which describes how families can be formed and bonds each one creates. It introduces the a thought about when someone misses a Loved one. Hugs and celebrations are for everyone, all families are special and unique. Simple and colorful illustrations.
Todd Parr's kid friendly, bright illustrations make this a great book for a read aloud or lap sit. A wonderful celebrations of all the different kinds of families there are in the world.
Todd Parr's colourful and simple illustrations make this an excellent read-aloud for young children!
Normalizing perversion to the toddler crowd. Sad.
Todd Parr is one of my favorite picture book authors. His books are full of vivid, child-like drawings that young fans can appreciate. His stories are funny and honest. His messages are full of love and understanding that both caretakers and kids alike will enjoy. The Family Book is a must read! I recommend it to anyone who's part of any type of family. That means you!
Worked well at toddler time
Todd Parr has a knack for creating books that both appeal to children and boost their self-confidence. His themes promote acceptance of and appreciation for modern society's diversity and his rhymes and diction make these themes fun and memorable. In "The Family Book," Parr shows how all families share both similarities and differences. Some families are different colours but all families like to HUG each other. Some families have two moms or two dads (or only one parent) but all families like to celebrate special days together.
Highly recommended for both nontraditional families and any family/school/community organization trying to teach children understanding and openness.
I just love Todd Parr! This gentle book discusses the many types of families that children belong to.
