Blackwell North Amer
FBI agent Rachel Walling finally gets the call she's dreaded for years: the one that tells her the Poet has returned. Years ago she worked on the famous case, tracking down the serial killer who wove lines of poetry into his hideous crimes. Rachel has never forgotten Robert Backus, the killer who called himself the Poet - and apparently he has not forgotten her either.
Harry Bosch gets a call, too. The former LAPD detective hears from the wife of an old friend who has recently died. The death appeared natural, but this man's ties to the hunt for the Poet make Harry dig deep - and lead him into a terrifying, bewildering situation.

Michael Connelly's book series of Harry Bosch are outstanding. Each book that I start I find myself lost in the story and have a difficult time putting it down and staying away from it. Therefore, I usually end up reading the novel from start to finish within a day or two at most. Since I am not an avid reader and would rather watch a DVD movie or series that says a lot about what I think about this writer's series the Bosch series. So far I have read over 8 novels of the bosh series and cannot wait to get the next book. I would recommend you start with the first book, The Black Echo and continue in the way the books were written as the author will carry on with the story of Bosch the LAPD detective. However, it is not necessary as each book is good on their own and you will be able to follow the story line. It only took me about 30 pages to get directly into the mind of the author and his fantasy of these fiction stories. Highly recommend the Bosch series. Just to add, his books have been made into movies such as Blood Work with Clint Eastwood, The Lincoln Lawyer with Matthew McConaughey and then a TV series Bosch. However, I believe the books are better than the TV series which says a lot as I am not an avid reader. So far I believe The Concrete Blonde is his best novel of the series which is the Third Book of the series.

Wow. Oh Wow! What a fantastic story. Harry Bosch and his FBI friend pursue the Poet, a former FBI agent who is a sociopathic killer. The last thirty pages or so was the best conclusion of any crime fighter story I have ever read. Wow. Put on your seat belt.

The Narrows continues a theme from a previous book. Connally's characters are in several books and sometimes the plots continue. This book is neither better nore worse than the usual bosch fare, which is to say that it is a compelling read.

One of the better Harry Bosch novels. A fitting end to Terry McCaleb, and to the Poet.

This Poet sequel (with some reference to Blood Work) is another great Harry Bosch thriller. Bosch finds himself working with an FBI agent (against his better judgment), though he later discovers some unexpected benefits. He also makes a decision that will affect his future. Author Michael Connelly put together another great page-turner.
