A fascinating story about two Juliets. One in present day, the other the historical Juliet from the 1340's and about whose life story Shakespeare's play is based. The book alternates between then and now. As the story progresses you realize that the two Juliets are linked and there is a mystery as well. Well written. My only complaints are - 1) the sections from the 1340's where it describes how Romeo and Juliet kill themselves rather than be apart, is a bit more gruesome than I care for. But its only 2 pages so it isn't a huge fault, and 2) I found some of the lengthy explanations of the various family members and the Italian traditions of that time (the 1340's) a bit tedious. But it wasn't excessive and I got through it. The ending is happy and quite satisfying.
