I love this film. It has been one of my favorites ever since I was a little girl. The tale of the outlaw who robs from the rich to give to the poor has always been one of my favorites, and there have been many adaptations of the story. This one holds up with the rest of them. This version features the characters as anthropomorphic animals, with the titular character as a fox, Little John as a bear, Prince John as a lion, and the Sheriff of Nottingham as a wolf. It is a fast-paced adventure story, with catchy and fun songs like "Ooh de Lally" and "The Phony King of England." The pace gets slowed down at the right places with songs like "Love," which was one of my favorite romantic ballads growing up, and the plaintive "Not in Nottingham," which shows the desperate straits the people in Nottingham have come to thank to the machinations of Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham. Overall, this is a not-to-be-missed film from Disney.
