This is actually a fairly well done spoof of the original Star Wars franchise, given that the scenes are not too overdone or cheesy. Rick Moranis, Mel Brooks, and Daphne Zuniga all did a great job at maintaining a serious mood to their performances while delivering completely ridiculous and out there lines. Renaming “Darth Vader” as “Dark Helmet” is one of the funny and subtle aspects of this movie that makes it the perfect level of parody with some original storyline. I found this 80’s film to be very entertaining and definitely hilarious. I would rate this film 4/5 stars and recommend it to anyone who can get a good laugh out of absurdity. @The_Reviewer of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library Spaceballs is a genuinely decent parody film. As a big fan of Star Wars I was a little bit skeptical when I first watched this movie. It turned out to be quite decent, with most of the comedy landing and generating quite a few laughs. Myself not being a huge fan of parody, I felt the movie was pretty enjoyable. The plot generally seems like an intentional butchered retelling of A New Hope which works well, as all of the references to the original film usually come off as pretty funny. Overall the film is definitely something anyone who likes Star Wars and comedy should watch. 4/5 - @ecozones of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
